99 Red Balloons!

I love this story!

Veltpunch does a fantastic job with her adorable rendition of the parent trap--Hikaru no go style. Hikaru and Sai are two very different (opposite gender, which provides extra hilarity :) people. One, a studious, go playing terminally ill patient at Tokyo Memorial and the other a troublemaking, rambunctious student at Haze Junior High, who has no ambitions towards Go whatsoever. The two meet uncannily when Hikaru's parents sign her up for community service at the local hospital, where she comes up with the brilliant--albeit flawed--plan to switch places with Sai to help him achieve his dream to play the Hand of God!

Let's all be Dark Wizards.

Vindico Atrum anyone? I love this fic more then life itself. Although, I recommend reading Black Heir first, if you ever want to fully understand what the hell is going on. It's quite complicated.

Listen to HP/EC

I read too much.

PASSION PIT. (Make light, moth's wings, seaweed song, the reeling)

Last summer I got seriously into Harry Potter and Twilight crossovers. As long as Bella Swan made no appearance, I mostly could tolerate them. Minimal sparkling. No creepy dead people. Pretty damn tolerable. It may have something to do with the fact that there was more magic wand waving then glitter-baby vampires and dumb girls who trip over everything. Honestly...

Anyway, my laptop was a good ol piece of crap, the screen was broken and sometimes I couldn't click on tabs. This was one of those. My Passion Pit playlist straight up failed and continued to repeat for about three days. Mostly this was fine with me, as I enjoy Passion Pit then is necessary or safe, and now everytime I hear those songs I think of Harry Potter getting it on with Jacob Black. Huh. Either way, time for some Passion Pit and could stories to show?

Hikaru no Go

I may just be an Obata fan, but tell you what, the guy is good at what he does. His artwork is pretty stellar, if I do say so myself. Of course, the differences between Hikaru no Go and Death Note couldn't be any vaster, yet somehow he manages to pull the two off without replicating his style in any way.

Hikaru and Akira are just adorable though, really. I love how every character has his own, usually pretty trendy, style. Most manga I read repeat outfits (unless its Shoujo, in which the girl always has an outlandishly decorated and equally outlandish fashion sense) and that goes without saying with Shounen Manga. I mean...Naruto wears the same orange jumpsuit for what has to be a span of a year. Talk about repetitive.

And you've really got to be impressed by how he manages to pull off the intensity of each scene without flying punches and ultra cool blasts of electricity, and to get this abrupt emotion that drags you into the story without the usages of anything other then monologue, music, and killer eye shots.

I may be biased, though :) because these two are so cute.

Adult Swim rocks.

Honestly. There's nothing better then peering at your TV for a good five hours in the wee hours of the morning because the Venture Bros. is on. I can only stand Aqua Teen Hungerforce for a limited amount of time, but the Venture Bros....ah, sweet, sweet, heaven.

My favorite part about this wonderful late night special is not only the fact it caters to my anime needs, but its sick music and funky bumpers. There's nothing I'd want more in the world then to sit around all day making commercial transition screens with a bear and a hockey mask and lots and lots
of bullets.

I could probably rant about the magnitude of magnificent bumps Adult Swim has in their repertoire, but I won't. Mainly because bumpworthy.com has them all covered and does it with more class then I ever could. I can't count how many times I'd sneak downstairs just to hear those familiar, indie beats that I really couldn't find on my walkman in which my mom had only bought me two CD's, Michelle Branch and Brittany Spears, neither which compared to Flying Lotus or Bonobo. That, and the fact that I was entirely too obsessed with Inuyasha (to be much more precise, his older brother/typical bishounen Sesshomaru)

Inuyasha wasn't the only anime featured on this wonderful channel, Adult Swim has a rather large andwonderful selection of anime. Sadly,
it only occurs around the hours of
11PM through 6 AM on Sundays
(honestly, who's going to be
awake that late when the next
day is a weekday unless they're
high as a fucking kite?) My favorites include, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Ghost in the Shell, Case Closed FTW, Blood+, Trigun, Death Note, Neon Gennesis, holy hell, way too many to count.

Now, this particular bump combines not only some syced up beats, but some kick ass photography and one of my most favorite anime ever, FLCL. I'm sure everyone in the world has watched this show. (You can tell when an anime is good when both its Japanese and English Dub are both exceptional)

Anyway, HaruHaru Haruko--the anime doesn't specify whether this is actually her name or not--is a pink-haired space alien who rides a freaking vespa and tears out this poor kids brain and makes television set-esque robots come out in some little dreary town with a giant iron on the top of the hill. It doesn't get much better then that. Actually, wait, it does. The Pillows, a J-Rock band with as much creativity for their album covers as Asian Kung Fu Generation, does most of the soundtrack. They. Are. Awesome.

Perchance to L

When in doubt, lie, lie, lie.

It doesn't get me very far, usually. Today, I am obsessing over L. L is from Death Note, I figure I should change this into, Lexi's rants and angerful hate messages and going gaga over shit that I really shouldn't. Big deal, I'm sure everyone's done it before. Anyway, if you don't know Death Note, you either a) are not asain b) aren't a nerd or c) are just dumb. Honestly, I'm sure some kid with lots of pimples who's either too scrawny or too fat has come up to you before wearing an "I love vampires" shirt and caked makeup with an assortment of belts and fishnet over hands with Death Note in hand or a large L over his binder. There's like a hundred at my school.

Anyway, L is just fucking awesome. He's an honest bad ass. He also looks a little weird, but when fate sucks your cock like it obviously does for this guy, you can overlook shit like that.
